Hatha Yoga

About Yogalates

Yoga is an eastern Indian tradition that focuses on strength, flexibility, and spirituality. Pilates was created by German-born Joseph Pilates nearly a century ago. Pilates focuses on building strength in the deep muscles of the abdominal region, the body’s core. Both practices involve attaining specific postures. Both emphasize correct breathing. Both emphasize meditative mindfulness. There is much synergy between the two. The philosophies of both make blending the two very natural. The mind is very focused on the body, on breathing techniques. Yoga/Pilates fusion allows students to feel their entire body was exercised in an integrated way.

About Balates
Balates is a healing arts method connecting the mind, body and spirit through Movement Therapy. The method is designed to emphasize the exposure and education to physical fitness by the integration of Pilates exercise and Ballet techniques.

Our mission is to improve body image, confidence and awareness through dance and Pilates principles. It enables the body to achieve optimal strength and ease of movement all while mobilizing the joints, articulating the spine, and increasing range of motion, balance and coordination. Studies have shown that the mental focus required for mind/body exercises such as Pilates improves the mind while conditioning the body. Balates contains specific teachings that lead to bodily health and emotional well-being; it causes an intellectual, creative, intuitive and spiritual awakening.

Enjoy the daily class schedule in our motion studio, included free of charge with any one-hour spa treatment, package or hotel stay. A charge may apply for special designated classes. Any of our group exercise classes can be arranged as private one-on-one or small group instruction, based on availability.

Flamenco Spanish Dance - 60 Minutes
Learn basic techniques of Flamenco blended with the “Sardana” from Catalonia and the “Muniera” from Galicia, Spain.

Belly Dance - 60 Minutes
Moroccan Belly dance thought to be one of the world’s oldest forms of dance, our instruction is designed for every woman. This class includes the basic foot patterns with focus on flexibility, balance, poise, posture, and isolation.
